Welcome to Shorthand Sathi. By accessing or using our platform at shorthandsathi.in ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Shorthand Sathi provides an online platform for stenography practice. The Service includes:

Daily dictation audio at varying speeds (60, 80, 100, 120 WPM)
AI-powered evaluation of transcription submissions against official exam marking schemes
Performance tracking, history, and analytics
Subscription-based access to content

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
One account per person — creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Plans

The Service is offered under subscription plans as described on our Pricing page. Plan features and pricing may change with 30 days' notice.

4.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

4.3 Free Trial

New users receive a free trial account upon registration with no expiry. Trial users can access trial dictations and GK features. To access full daily dictations and advanced features, a subscription is required.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period.

4.5 Refund Policy

Refund requests made within 7 days of the first payment for a new subscription will be honored in full. After 7 days, no refunds are issued. To request a refund, email support@shorthandsathi.in.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Share your account credentials with others
Attempt to download, record, or redistribute dictation audio files
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
Attempt to bypass the one-play restriction on dictation audio
Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with any part of the Service
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
Submit offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content in transcription fields

6. Dictation Content and Intellectual Property

All dictation texts, audio recordings, and content on the platform are the property of Shorthand Sathi or licensed to us. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access this content for personal practice purposes only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the platform without our express written permission.

7. AI Evaluation Disclaimer

Our AI-powered evaluation system is designed to closely replicate official exam marking schemes. However:

Evaluation results are for practice and self-assessment purposes only
Results on our platform do not guarantee the same score in actual government examinations
We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that AI evaluations are 100% error-free
If you believe an evaluation is incorrect, you may report it via the dispute button on the results page

8. Daily Usage Limits

Each subscription plan includes a daily dictation limit (1 for Basic, 2 for Premium). These limits reset at midnight IST each day. Unused attempts do not roll over. We reserve the right to adjust these limits with notice.

9. One-Play Policy

Dictation audio is played only once per attempt, replicating real examination conditions. This restriction is enforced both technically and by these Terms. Attempting to circumvent this restriction violates these Terms and may result in account suspension.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use is harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shorthand Sathi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi, India.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
